Agustín Lara

Ángel María Agustín Carlos Fausto Mariano Alfonso del Sagrado Corazón y Lara Aguirre del Pino, named Agustín Lara ( born October 30, 1897 in Mexico City; † November 6, 1970 ) was a Mexican composer and singer.

Life

Lara was the creator of several classic music of bolero. Even as a young Lara deserved as piano player in nightclubs pocket money, which his father to moved to send him to a military academy.

After completion of this educational career began Lara continued his career as a musician and got the end of the twenties the opportunity to create their own broadcast. Because he played this mission mainly own compositions, his works were disseminated quickly. The focus in Lara's energies to romantic pieces in the style of bolero, his oeuvre amounts to around 700 opus numbers, all of them (Fine Art) songs. Among them, a cycle of songs about Spanish cities.

In addition to his composing career, he also appeared in about 30 films and was in Mexico a media star. He composed the music for the first Mexican talkie Santa in 1932.

He is buried in Mexico City in the Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres.
