Agustín Parrado y García

Cardinal Agustín Parrado García ( born October 5, 1872 in Fuensaldaña, Spain, † October 8, 1946 in Granada) was Archbishop of Granada.

Life

Agustín Parrado García received after a study of Catholic theology and philosophy in Valladolid on 21 September 1895, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked as a lecturer at the Seminary and the Pontifical Pontifical University of Valladolid, before he worked in Astorga for the diocesan court and a Catholic newspaper headed. In 1922 he was dean of the Pontifical University of Salamanca and diocesan prosecuted ex officio.

1925 Pope Pius XI appointed him. Bishop of Palencia, 1934 Archbishop of Granada. Pope Pius XII. awarded him in 1945 the title of Assistant at the Pontifical Throne, and took him on 18 February 1946 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of Sant'Agostino in the College of Cardinals to. Agustín Parrado García died on October 8, 1946 in Granada and was buried in the local basilica.
