The Asian Highway 1 (English for Asia Highway 1 ') is the longest connection in the Asian Highways Project. With a projected length of 20,557 km, the road from Tokyo ( Japan) via Korea, China, Southeast Asia, India, Iran to over the Bosphorus (Turkey).

Similarly, European Routes existing routes are also equipped with the designation " AH1 ". The participating States have committed themselves to raise the standard of development of transnational roads and develop for single-letter combination as the AH1 to motorway-like highways.

Japan

With the designation as AH1 since November 2003, the main road runs in Japan over 1200 kilometers along the following ( toll ) motorways:

  • Urban motorway Tokyo C1 ( Inner ring ) and 3 ( Shibuya - line)
  • Tomei highway from Tokyo to Komaki
  • Meishin highway, from Komaki about Kyoto after Suita
  • Chugoku Expressway, Suita to Kobe
  • San'yo highway, from Kobe on Hiroshima Yamaguchi
  • Chugoku Expressway, in Yamaguchi Shimonoseki after
  • Kammon highway ( Kammon Bridge ), from Shimonoseki to Kitakyushu
  • Kyushu Expressway, from Kitakyushu to Fukuoka
  • Fukuoka Highway 4 and 1 in Fukuoka

From the Fukuoka AH1 operates as ferry to Busan in South Korea - the proposed Japan - Korea tunnel could allow a connection with a solid track.

The AH1 largely followed the Gyeongbu highway.
