Ahlefeld-Bistensee

Ahlefeld - Bistensee is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

History

Known as the place Ahlefeld is the same noble family. This played a major role in the history of Schleswig-Holstein. Your family had numerous goods, especially in the Duchy of Schleswig, and arrived in the time of the general government under the Danish monarchy in the highest offices of state. The Good Friedrichshof, which was the headquarters of Ahlefeld family, was demolished in 1953 after a fire.

Bistensee was first mentioned in 1142 and in 1542 appeared on the Gottorp official register. The place name is probably derived from the word rushes.

On 1 March 2008 the formerly independent communities Ahlefeld and Bistensee merged to community Ahlefeld - Bistensee.
