Ahlsdorf is a municipality in the district of Mansfeld - South Harz in Saxony- Anhalt. With an area of 5.09 km ², it is the smallest municipality in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Geographical Location

Ahlsdorf is about 7 km west of Eisleben. The municipality belongs to the municipality of Mansfeld basic Helbra, which has its administrative headquarters in Helbra. Due to the location of Dippel stream, on its headwaters west of Ahlsdorf is the deserted village Dippelsdorf flows.

Neighboring municipalities are Benndorf in the north, the town of Mansfeld in the West, Hergisdorf in the south and the east Helbra.

History

780 the village was first mentioned.

The spelling of the place was formerly also Alsdorf. The village had a freehold and a branch church of Hergisdorf. Also, was located in the town near a windmill. 1822 lived 546 inhabitants in 85 houses that belonged to Mansfeld mountain circuit. Until 1848, a patrimonial had its seat in Ahlsdorf.

In GDR times, a children's holiday camp was set up as a tent camp in the district Ziegelrode.
