Ahmad Amir-Ahmadi

Ahmad Amir - Ahmadi Sepahbod (* 1884 in Isfahan, † 1974) was Lieutenant General of the Army, Secretary and Senator in Iran.

Life

Ahmad Amir - Ahmadi was born in 1884 in Isfahan. With 15 years he joined in 1899 in the service of the Cossack Brigade. He received his military training at the Military Academy of the Cossacks. In 1916 he was appointed Major, promoted in 1919 to the Colonel ( Oberst ). He was involved in the crackdown on Jangali movement of Mirza Khan Kutschak and was promoted to brigadier general basis of merit in 1921. As part of the reform of the army to him the command of the Western Division in Hamadan was transferred.

Amir - Ahmadi was involved in the planning and execution of the coup of 1921 by Seyyed Zia al Din Tabatabai and Reza Khan against the government Prime Minister Sepahdar. Amir Ahmadi described the events as follows:

On February 20, 1921, Reza Khan, Seyyed Zia, Kazem Khan, Mas'oud Khan and Ahmad Amir - Ahmadi met and swore on the Koran that they wanted to protect the independence of Iran.
