Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai

Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai, also listed as Ahmadshah or Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai Achmadsai (* 1944 in the village of Malang, Kabul Province) is an Afghan politician who ruled as Prime Minister from 1995 to 1996.

Career

Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai completed his engineering studies at the University of Kabul in 1967 and worked from 1969 to 1972 in the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1972 he received a scholarship to the University of Colorado, graduating in 1975 with an MBA. He later taught as a Lecturer at King Faisal University in Dammam in Saudi Arabia. After the seizure of power by the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan ( PDPA = Hizb -i - Dimukratik -i Khalq Afghanistan) in Afghanistan in 1979, Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai returned to Afghanistan and joined as an employee of Burhanuddin Rabbani resistance to the PDPA to.

After the end of the PDPA was Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai 1992 deputy head of the group and also served as a minister in the Afghan government. He served as interior and Construction Minister and then became deputy prime minister. Sometime in 1995 he became the first Prime Minister and served in that position until June 26, 1996. Ahmadzai was in the remaining three months of the Government Ministers of Education.

Ahmadzai fled in September 1996, when the Taliban captured Kabul. He lived in Istanbul and London and returned in 2001 after the overthrow of the Taliban back to Afghanistan. In 2004, Ahmadzai was an independent candidate for the Afghan presidential election and supported an Islamic system. He kept his chances of winning the election, for good, but only received 0.8 % of votes.
