Ahmed Rachedi (film director)

Ahmed Rachedi (* 1938 in Tebessa, Algeria) is an Algerian film director and screenwriter. His debut as a director, he had in 1963 with the film documentary Peuple en marche. He is best known as a producer of the film Z, for which he along with co-producer Jacques Perrin received a 1970 Oscar nomination. In 1981, he was honored for Ali in Wonderland with the honorary prize at the International Film Festival in Moscow. In 1993 he received for C'était la guerre along with Maurice Failevic the French Film Prize of the Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels.
