Ahmet Abakay

Ahmet Abakay ( born April 3, 1950 in Divriği in Sivas ), is a Turkish journalist, author and chairman of the National Association of Contemporary Journalists ( med Gazeteciler Cemiyeti ) with Alevi faith and Armenian roots. He is the author of the books Hoşana'nın Son sözü ( " The last word Hoschanas " ) and Bakan Danışmanı'nın Not Defteri ( " Notebook of Prime Consultant" ). In his latest book Hoşana'nın Son sözü of 2013 it comes to his mother, who surrendered their Armenian identity weeks before her death. Because of the publication of the book earned Abakay harsh criticism from family members.

Life

Ahmet Abakay, was born the son of an Alevi Turks, and an Armenian, who was rescued as a child before the genocide of the Armenians. He received his early education at a secondary school in Erzincan. He completed his higher education at the University of Ankara, where he eventually graduated. He was a correspondent of many different Turkish newspapers and news agencies such as ISTA Haber, Vatan, Anka and Özgür Gündem. Ahmet Abakay was also involved in the founding of the Association of Contemporary Journalists of Turkey. The association, whose founding member Alaatin Orhan was, was established on 23 February 1973. Fate of his mother

" My mother told me about their history 13 years ago, and soon after she died. I did this only to write down ten years later, as I hesitated. Ahmet Abakay wrote in 2013 a book entitled Hoşana'nın Son sözü ( " The last word Hoschanas " ), which describes his mother's life with the name Hosanna. In the book Ahmet Abakay published that his mother told him weeks before her death about their Armenian identity. She held it for 82 years a secret, because " she was living in fear. " Mother of Ahmet Abakay told him that he should reveal this secret to anyone. She was saved from the genocide of the Armenians in 1915 in the Ottoman Empire, because it was cast as a child before the door of an Alevi Turks.
