Ahmet Mithat Efendi

Ahmed Midhat (* 1844 in Istanbul, † December 28, 1912 ) was an Ottoman journalist, author, translator and publisher of Tanzimatzeit. He is out in the literature with his title when Ahmed Midhat Efendi, to distinguish him from the living at the same time politician Ahmed Midhat Pasha. Ahmed Midhat Efendi got its name from Ahmed Midhat Pasha, as he was for a time as a civil servant, and newspaper publisher in Midhat Pasha Tuna Vilayet active.

Politically positioned Ahmed Mithat Efendi themselves conservative than liberal authors Namik Kemal to. He was a prolific writer, he is more than 250 plants survived, he moved largely self. From 1878 he published the newspaper Tercüman -i Hakikat ( German: Translator of Truth) out.

In addition, he was the patron and teacher of Fatma Aliye, one of the famous Ottoman authors.
