Ahrweiler BC

The Ahrweiler BC is a football club established in 1920 in Ahrweiler, a district of Bad Neuenahr- Ahrweiler ( Rhineland -Palatinate).

History

Ahrweiler of BC was founded in 1920 under the name Soccer Team Ahrweiler 1920. The first Game of the club on 14 February 1920. This ended 6:6. The return match was lost 4-2. Between 1920 and 1925 the FV Ahrweiler carried out only friendly matches. On March 10, 1925, the name change followed in Ahrweiler ball game club. In the meantime, the club was called turf sports association 98 eV Ahrweiler. Only in 1949 was the Ahrweiler BC back to a stand-alone club. This year, the club also managed the rise in the district class. In the season of 1953 the club achieved promotion to the second amateur league, the then third highest league. In 1957, the ABC rose, however, again in the A-Class. 1961 managed the club to promotion back to the district league. In the same year the club won a game against the patrons SG village with 8:1. 1969 reached the Ahrweiler BC the runner-up in the District League West.

1967 taught the ABC for the first time from the Pfingstturnier. In the following years the club played within the Tournament against, among others Honved Budapest and Werder Bremen. For the 50th anniversary club a friendly match against the then German champions Borussia Mönchengladbach could be presented in 1970.

The best-known players of the club is Adalbert Fuhrmann, who played for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Ahrweiler 1972 BC rose to the Rhine Country League. After mehrenen off and climbs the club from 1976 to 1978 played in the district league. In 1978, the club was able to rise again, in the newly created Association league. For the 2006/07 season the club was relegated to the A-Class, as the club entered into a lottery syndicate with the longtime rivals SC Bad Neuenahr.
