Aichkirchen, Austria

Aichkirchen is a municipality with 553 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Wels-Land in Hausruckviertel.

Geography

Aichkirchen is located on 448 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 3.9 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 2.8 km. The total area is 6.6 km ². 10.6% of the area is forested, 77.3 % of the area is used for agriculture.

Quarters are Aichkirchen, Brunngasse, Eisgering, Getzing, Ingerendt, Nopping, Pisdorf, pitting, Puch, Raven Mountain, Roitfeld, Stötten and Voglhub.

Aichkirchen belonged until 2012 to the judicial district of Lambach and since 1 January 2013 part of the judicial district of Wels.

Coat of arms

Blazon: In gold over a green oak branch with two outwardly inclined leaves and two acorns erect asked a black, three-armed Pontifikalstab with trefoil ends.

The municipality colors are: black -yellow-green.

The Papal crosier in 1984 conferred coat of arms refers to the parish patronal feast of Peter and Paul, along with the oak leaves symbolizes the place name.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. He was first mentioned around 1136 as " Eicha " in the tradition of Conduct Abbey of St. Peter / Salzburg. 1449 appears the first time the name Aichkirchen. Since 1490 the place is part of the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. In the time of the Reformation, many residents were converted to Protestantism. Only by the Counter-Reformation Aichkirchen was re-Catholicised again. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria.
