Aichstetten

Aichstetten is a municipality in the district of Ravensburg in southeastern Baden -Württemberg. The municipality together with Aitrach and Leutkirch im Allgäu in administrative matters.

Geography

To Aichstetten include the districts Altmannshofen, Altmann Speier, Breitenbach, Eschach, Häber compact, hard climb, Kirchmann, Langensteig ( with the court orchestra Langensteig ), nest tree, vineyards and brick fountain.

History

Aichstetten 797 was first mentioned in a document of the monastery of St. Gall as Eihsteti. Archaeological finds, such as a Celtic drawing castle on the Buchkapf suggest, however on a much earlier settlement of the area. In the year 983 the place came into the possession of the monastery Peterhausen which resold it in 1491 to the House of Waldburg. see also Castle Aichstetten, castle Blutberg

On 1 July 1971 Altmannshofen was incorporated into Aichstetten.

Religions

Aichstetten is dominated Roman Catholic as the surrounding countryside. The community is home to the parish of St. Michael in Aichstetten and the parish of St. Vitus in Altmannshofen. Both parishes are part of the deanery Allgaeu Upper Swabia.

The evangelical Christians in Aichstetten are parishioners of the parish Aitrach that belongs to the church district of Ravensburg.

Policy

With the city Leutkirch im Allgäu and the community Aitrach an Agreed administrative community was undertaken.

Parish council

The local elections on 7 June 2009 yielded the following distribution of the individual votes at a maximum of twelve votes per election creditors and seats in the municipal council:

The turnout was 60.6 %, which was 0.3 percentage points higher than in the local elections of 2004. The council has twelve members.

Mayor of Aichstetten since 1989 Dietmar Lohmiller. His current term ends in 2014.

Traffic

The community is located directly on the railway line Leutkirch -Memmingen with departures every two hours on Aichstetten station. It is connected to some bus lines, among others with Leutkirch and belongs to the Upper Swabia Transport Association ( bodo ) to.

Aichstetten is located on the main highway 96 from Lindau to Munich. At the junction Aichstetten a truck stop is set up.
