Aida Shanayeva

Aida Vladimirovna Schanajewa (Russian Аида Владимировна Шанаева; born April 23, 1986 in Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania ) is a Russian foil fencer, Olympic gold medalist and world champion.

Achievements

Aida Schanajewa was at the 2006 World Championships in Turin with the Russian team Foil World Champion, 2007 in St. Petersburg, she was awarded with the team silver. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing she won gold with the Russian foil team. In 2009 she was at the World Championships in Antalya Foil Individual World Champion and overall winner in the World Cup. 2011 in Catania, she was again Team World Champion. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012, she won silver in the team foil, only beaten by the Italian team.

In European Championships she was with the team every year since 2006 successfully: 2006 Gold, 2007, 2008 and 2009 Silver, 2010 Bronze, 2011 Silver, 2012 Bronze.
