Aigle (rocket)

VE10 Aigle is the name of a French experimental rocket that was launched in 1960-1961 several times in Hammaguir. The Aigle was 984 kg of solid fuel powered Plastolite for 16 s ongoing and 75 kN of thrust delivered Stromboli SEPR 737. She could carry 360 kg payload to a height of up to 20 km. The launch mass was 2.3 t, the length of the rocket was 8.0 m and the diameter at 55 cm.

The VE10A Aigle was a further developed version, which was established on March 5, 1963 and November 2, 1964.

It belonged to the French VE program ( Vehicle of Experimental ) for the development of air, silo or submarine -based intercontinental ballistic missiles, which included the VE8, VE9, VE110 Agate, VE111 Topaze, VE121 Emeraude, VE210 Rubis and the VE231 sapphire.
