Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont

Aillevillers -et- Lyaumont is a commune in the French department of Haute- Saône in the Franche -Comté. She is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de Communes du Val de Semouse.

Geography

The community Aillevillers -et- Lyaumont between Epinal in the north and to the south by the rivers Vesoul Augronne and Semouse, near the border with Lorraine the Vosges. The municipality comprises the main town Aillevillers and five kilometers north-west town of Le Lyaumont as well as the hamlets of Les Mala Grins, La Chaudeau, Le Poiremont, La Branleure, Le Bas -de- la- Côte and Le Thièlou.

Neighboring communities of Aillevillers -et- Lyaumont are Le Clerjus in the north, Fougerolles and La Vaivre in the east, Corbenay in the south, Magnoncourt the southwest, Fleurey -lès -Saint -Loup, Saint -Loup- sur- Semouse and Bouligney in the west and Fontenoy- le -Château and Trémonzey in the northwest.

History

The first time was mentioned in writing in the place 1327. In 1808 the places Aillevillers and Lyaumont were combined to form a community.

Twinning

Since May 1984, a partnership with the German community Schworstadt on the Upper Rhine.

Personalities

  • The French sociologist, ethnologist and anthropologist Georges Balandier was born in 1920 in Aillevillers -et- Lyaumont.
