Ailo Gaup (motocross rider)

Ailo Gaup ( Ailo Mikkelsen Gaup, nicknamed Iceman, born January 22, 1980 in Tromsø) is a Norwegian Sami - Freestyle Motocross ( FMX ) rider. Besides Mathieu Rebeaud he has dominated the European freestyle motocross landscape in the last two years. His motorsport career started at the age of five years with snowmobile races. The switch to the motocross machine is 1993 before 2000 changes to freestyle motocross. Meanwhile, he is professional and can live off the prize money paid and departure fees. As the first driver he has a Underflip jumped in 2005, a mixture of 360 and Backflip. As the first European, he was invited to X Games competition in the field of Freestyle Motocross.

His mother Laila Stien is a well-known Norwegian children's book author ( My brother the champion ).
