The Ain - Diab Circuit is a former Formula 1 street circuit, which was built in 1957 south-west of Ain ​​- Diab in Morocco. He used the existing coast road and the main road from Casablanca to Azemmour.

History

The 7.618 km long course was designed by the Automobile Club of Morocco and its planning and construction took only six weeks. In 1957 here was a Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Grand Prix of Morocco discharged, but which did not count for the World Championship. On October 19, 1958, the Grand Prix of Morocco was the finale of the Formula 1 World Championship in 1958. The race was won by Briton Stirling Moss. However, his rival Mike Hawthorn handed second place to secure the title by a single point. The race was overshadowed by the serious accident of Stuart Lewis -Evans. Evans died six days later of his burns.
