Aiquile Municipality

The municipality Aiquile is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Aiquile is one of three Municipalities of the province Campero. It is bordered to the west by the province Mizque, on the southwest by the department of Potosí, to the south by the department of Chuquisaca, on the east by the municipality of Pasorapa, on the northeast by the municipality of Omereque, and to the north by the province of Carrasco.

The central location of the municipality is the town with 7,381 inhabitants Aiquile ( 2001 census ) in the northwestern part of the county.

Geography

The municipality Aiquile lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central. The climate is characterized by year-round spring-like temperatures and low rainfall.
