Air Accident Investigation Unit

The Air Accidents Investigation Unit ( AAIU ) ( Irish: An tAonad to Imscrúdú Aerthionóiscí ) a transport authority of the Republic of Ireland, the flight accidents is investigated and reports to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport belongs. His office is located in Dublin.

History

The Authority was established founded based on the Chicago Convention and the European Union Regulation on investigation and prevention of accidents and incidents in civil aviation in 1993. A branch office is located in the town of Gormanston, County Meath County.
