Air Force Cross (United States)

The Air Force Cross is the second highest award after the Medal of Honor that can get awarded a national of the United States Air Force. So far, 191 awards have been made ( end of 2006).

The award was first awarded posthumously to Major Rudolf Anderson in January 8th, 1964. Anderson was the only casualty of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Repeated ceremonies are indicated by an oak leaf. The recipient's name is engraved on the back.
