Air Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing observatory

The Air Force Maui Optical and Super Computing ( AMOS ) observatory a location on Maui establishment of air Force Research Laboratory ( AFRL ) with double order. Firstly, it performs the research and development activities under the Maui Space Surveillance System ( MSSS ) at the Maui Space Surveillance Complex ( MSSC ) by, on the other hand it monitors the facilities at the Maui High Performance Computing Center ( MHPCC ). The activities of the AFRL on Maui were officially called AMOS; the term has spread across the technical term world for over 30 years and is still used at technical conferences.

Maui High Performance Computing Center ( MHPCC )

The Maui High Performance Computing Center ( MHPCC ) is a research center of the United States Air Force, which is currently managed by the University of Hawaii. It is located in the Maui Research and Technology Park in Kihei. The MHPCC is an institution in the research and development of the U.S. Department of Defense and operates numerous computer clusters, including a Dell PowerEdge cluster with 2304 processors and 9210 cores called " Mana ", the 2009 number 59 took most in the list of the most powerful computer systems in November.

Maui Space Surveillance Complex ( MSSC )

The telescopes of the MSSC on the Haleakalā (IAU code 608) monitor for NORAD and the Air Force Space Command, among others Satellites, space debris and Near Earth Objects.
