Air Ivoire (actually Société Nouvelle Air Ivoire ) was an Ivorian airline based in Abidjan and based on the port Bouet Airport.

History

The airline was founded on 14 December 1960 and took its flight operations in August 1964. The company Sodetraf, Union des Transports Aériens and Air Afrique were involved until January 1976, the Company, after the Ivorian state took over all shares. In September 1999, the airline had to stop due to financial problems the company. However, the takeover by the AAA (owned by Air France (51%) and AIG ) could save the company, so that the operation under the name Nouvelle Air Ivoire in 2001 could be resumed. Meanwhile, the airline has had to rename back to the old name. In March 2011, it terminated the flight operations.

Objectives

Air Ivoire Abidjan connected mainly with key African destinations including Accra, Libreville and Lagos and flew beyond to Paris and Marseille in France.
