Air Line Pilots Association, International
The Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (short: ALPA ) is a regulated by a collective agreement employee representation for over 64,000 professional pilots from 41 different U.S. and Canadian carriers. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
History
ALPA was founded in 1931 and is a member of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations and the Canadian Labour Congress, two major umbrella organizations of North American unions. Beginning of August 2013 it was announced that Lori Garver, the former head of NASA stellvertrende, as General Manager of the Air Line Pilots Association will be active.
