Air Nigeria was a Nigerian airline based in Lagos and based on the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

History

The company was founded in 2004 as the successor to the Nigeria Airways by the Nigerian state and the British airline Virgin Atlantic with the name Virgin Nigeria. 51% of the shares are in the hands of Nigerian investors, while the parent company of Virgin Atlantic, the Virgin Group has a 49 % stake.

The last long-haul flights took place end of January 2009 to Johannesburg and London and were subsequently adjusted.

Between September 2009 and June 2010, the airline carried as part of a realignment of the name Nigerian Eagle Airlines, before she finally got her last name with a new investor.

In September 2012, Air Nigeria made a flight operations for economic and personal reasons. In June, the operation of the company reduced the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority a strong.

Destinations

Air Nigeria recently offered in addition to several domestic destinations like Abuja and Port Harcourt, international flights to other destinations in West Africa, including for example Accra and Libreville and London.
