Air Norway

Air Norway is a Norwegian airline based in Ørland. In line service they currently flies the compounds Oslo Oslo Ørland and Aalborg.

History

Air Norway was founded in 2003 by Gunnar Hagsveen and adopted on 23 May of the same year, flight operations with a Fairchild Metro from the airport to Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Ørland on. The founder and director of the airline, Gunnar Hagsveen, but fell ill shortly after starting operation, which led to a serious problem in the operation and marketing and on the other to the collapse of passenger numbers. The founder died in Christmas 2003, but the company got the marketing re-erected, so Air Norway decreed soon have an adequate utilization. But the difficult start had led to a mountain of debt, the risk of the operation of the still defizären airline. Subsequently, Air Norway asked the local government Ørlands for a loan of 650 000 Norwegian kroner. Since the local government had classified the operation of the flight route to Oslo for the development of the community as very important, Air Norway got the beginning of 2004 the loan after several attempts yet. At the same time, the company was sold to Sven Rosenvinge.

2005, the airline still can not eliminate their deficits. The Ørland decided to purchase the airline and paid for half of the shares at a price of 1 million Norwegian kroner, the remaining half went to the operator of the only aircraft in the Air Norway, the Danish North Flying. Sven Rosenvinge withdrew from society. The transaction resulted in a new capital and a medium-term coverage of the loss-making flight operations. Under new leadership, the company became more popular in the region and thus won several Danish tourists on his side. For the latter, Air Norway offers a connecting flight from Oslo to Aalborg, which has been operational since 2004.

Cash flow, however, was still not achieved, and thus the airline had to continue to be financed by the municipality. In July 2005, the company welcomed its 10,000 passenger. In the same year Air Norway also moved its headquarters from Drammen to Brekstad in Ørland. The move was announced in November.

Furthermore, the airline ran defizär, but could credited in the first 3 months compared to the previous year 2007, a passenger growth of 40 percent. In the same year they also faltered on October 1, the capacity for service between Oslo and Ørland considerably on.

After the bankruptcy of Coast Air in January 2008, Air Norway competed with their operating airline North Flying to some, by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications in the short term tender for a short period, stretching. Air Norway and North Flying received from April 1, 2008 the contract for the one-year operating the route from Fagernes to Oslo, for which a grant of 11.9 million Norwegian kroner was paid. In the same year took over in February, the distance from Fagernes to Oslo. Both routes provided Air Norway after the contract expires in 2009 again.

The year 2009 started very badly for Air Norway. The Norwegian armed forces left their employees for the nearby base at the airport no longer with Air Norway on Ørland but with a different airline to Trondheim and then travel 2 hours by car. Since these passengers had identified about a third of the volume on the track, you lost abruptly in 1300 passengers. Because of the lower Auslaustung Air Norway slipped deep into the red. There, a restructuring program was initiated. To increase the brand awareness of defizären airline and thus erhöhern the passenger load factor eased the community at the turn of 2009/2010 62,500 Norwegian crowns in the form of loans, which were used for a commercial in the semifinals of the Melodi Grand Prix on 8 January 2010.
