The Early Haferschmiele ( Aira praecox ) is a plant of the family Gramineae ( Poaceae ).
Description
The Early Haferschmiele is an annual, growing Horstig and is up to 15 cm high. The bare leaves are rolled borstlich. The ligule is saumförmig and 1 to 3 mm long. The panicle is contracted spike- shaped and consists of 2 to 3 mm long, zweiblütigen spikelets. The Rückengranne the lemma is 3 to 4 mm long.
The plant flowers in May and June.
Habitat requirements
The Early Haferschmiele settled mostly semi-dry and dry grasslands and waste places and fallow on acid sites.
The natural occurrence of the species is restricted to the Atlantic and sub-Atlantic part of Europe.
