Airbourne (Band)

Airbourne is an Australian hard rock band from Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia.

Band History

At the age of 11 years, Joel O'Keeffe began with his guitar riffs from well known Australian artists such as AC / DC and Rose Tattoo imitate. Its at this time 10 - year-old brother began, inspired by him to play drums. First, the two played unsuccessfully with changing bass players until later guitarist David Roads met. 2003 was joined by bassist Justin Street completed the quartet.

Their first EP Ready to Rock appeared in 2004. Of these 1,000 copies were sold after concerts and are no longer available today on the open market. In spring 2005 the band moved its residence to Melbourne. In late 2005, they received a recording contract with Capitol Records and played together with Mötley Crüe, Motörhead and The Rolling Stones, as well as in the summer with some festivals in Europe. In 2008 they were at Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Wacken Open Air, played as support of The Toten Hosen on the Machmalauter tour and also had a few own headlining concerts such as one at a packed Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg with the alternative band Blac Head Lion (then Chuck ) as the opening act. In summer 2011, Airbourne were again at the Wacken Open Air and at the Woodstock Stop in Poland.

Their first album, entitled Runnin 'Wild was released on June 23, 2007 in Australia. On 19 February 2007, the recording contract was terminated by Capitol Records, but the album released by EMI in Australia. Today, the band has a deal with Roadrunner Records for the worldwide distribution. The ARIA Awards 2007 the band was nominated in the categories Best Rock Album and Breakthrough Album of the Year for Runnin 'Wild. In the video clip to Runnin ' Wild plays Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead a trucker. On 5 March 2010 the studio album No Guts was. No Glory. published. The first single from the album No Way But the Hard Way was released on 13 January 2010. On 29 May 2010, the second single from the album Blonde, Bad And Beautiful appeared.

From summer 2011 until early 2012 working on their third studio album Airbourne Black Dog Barking for which they hired the producer David Howes, who has already worked with bands like Simple Plan and Nickelback. It is on the market since 17 May 2013. The first single Live It Up was released on 25 March 2013. The idea for the album title sprang the idea to have a rock band in a sense the obligation to cross borders, in particular concerning the volume. The end of 2013 began Airbourne their European tour, in which they were, inter alia, be supported by the Swedish band Corroded.
