PAL Express (formerly Airphil Express, Air Philippines before ) is a Philippine airline based in Pasay City and bases in Subic Bay and on the Manila airport.

History

The airline was founded as Air Philippines on 13 February 1995 seat on the United States Naval Base Subic Bay. On 1 February 1996, she took off with a Boeing 737-200 between Subic Bay, Iloilo and Zamboanga City. In April 1996, she received six NAMC YS- 11th 1997, the airline carried 675,000 passengers in 1998 to 773,000.

In September 1998, the Company was briefly Earth-bound by the Philippine aviation authority.

In May 2001, two Boeing 737-300 aircraft were added to the fleet. In the same year international charter flights have been added to the program, first to Hong Kong, in 2002 and 2004 to Brunei to Guangzhou in China.

The former name of the company Air Philippines was amended on 27 March, 2010 Airphil Express.

On March 15, 2013 there was a further renaming of Airphil Express PAL Express. As part of the renaming stressed Ramon S. Ang, president of PAL that the new PAL Express was no longer the pure low-cost airline, as the company of the same name previously offers from 2008 to 2010, but the passengers full service with same standard as well as Philippine Airlines (abbreviated PAL). Despite the renaming, nearly identical aircraft painting and convergence in standards of service, the two companies remain legally separate and independent airlines. The pilots and crew members of the previous Airphil Express are now being used on the machines of PAL Express.

PAL Express operated from Manila and Cebu several national goals.

Incidents

  • On April 19, 2000, a Boeing 737-200 of the then Air Philippines crashed near Davao City, where 131 people lost their lives.
