Aisone

Aisone ( Piedmontese Aeson, Aizoun Occitan ) is a municipality with 264 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont.

The municipality consists of the villages Forani and Lucerna. Neighboring municipalities are Demonte, Valdieri and Vinadio.

Geography

The place is 31 km from the provincial capital of Cuneo at an altitude of 834 m above sea level in the mountain valley Valle Stura di Demonte, which is part of the Regional Park Parco delle Maritime Alps. The municipality covers an area of ​​36.87 km ².

Economy

The area is dominated by agriculture, mainly through the fields and orchards. New developments include the rearing of pigs and cattle. In addition, the area is trying to promote tourism. As attractions here are the local cuisine as well as in the winter to give an approximately 50 km wide network of cross-country ski slopes. There is also a campsite, the Campeggio "Il Castagneto ".
