The Aist is a creek and river system in the eastern Upper Austria Upper Austria, which drains an area of 647 km ².
Location, landscape and run
In the High bridge (south of Pregarten ) the field and Waldaist unite to Aist. The Aist has to its confluence with the Danube near mountain sword has a length of 14 kilometers. Together with the Waldaist it comes to a length of approximately 72 km.
On its route the Aist flows through the protected Natura 2000 site Waldaist - Naarn (Fauna - Flora-Habitat Area).
Etymology
