Aizawl ( English, Hindi: आइज़ोल, Aizawl; Bengali: আইজল, Āijal, Aijal or Aijol ) is the capital of the Indian state of Mizoram. It is the administrative seat of the district of the same name, located in 1100 meters altitude on a mountain ridge and has approximately 290,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ).

Aizawl is trading place for the tribal population of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Aizawl has an airport and is reachable from Kolkata and Imphal from. Aizawl Mizoram houses the State Museum with a collection of the Mizo culture in the state.
