AJ Kitt

Alvar Ross " AJ " Kitt (born 13 September 1968, Rochester, New York ) is a former American alpine skier.

Life

Kitt learned to ski on a hill near New York, where his parents were working as a hobby instructors. Only when Kitt was 23 years old, he revealed his real name. The name that his father had given ( a print shop owners and publishers), he felt as distinctly Anglo- fashioned.

His first points in the World Cup he won on January 23, 1988 as the twelfth of departure in Leukerbad. During the next two years he was especially successful in the Nor- Am Cup. In the 1988/89 season he won the downhill and super-G standings and in the 1989/90 season again the departure date. From 1990, he was able to regularly place in the points in the World Cup. On December 7, 1991, he won his first World Cup race, the departure of Val d'Isere. While this should be his only victory, but mastic reached in a number of times very good rankings. At the end of the 1991/92 season he was on the third place in the World Cup downhill discipline.

Before departure at the Olympic Winter Games in 1992 was AJ Kitt as one of the favorites to win, but he was eventually only ninth. He achieved his greatest success in the 1993 World Championships in Morioka, when he won the bronze medal in the downhill behind the Swiss Urs Lehmann and the Norwegian Atle Skårdal.

After suffering a torn ACL in the conclusion Trainingswhip the downhill in Val Gardena on 8 December 1995, Kitt had to pause for a year. He then attempted a comeback, but barely reached the Top 30 ever a place and went back in March 1998 from professional sports. At the national level, he had won four championships ( 1992 and 1995 downhill, Super-G in 1991 and 1992).

After his retirement he worked as an analyst and reporter for CBS, NBC and Outdoor Life Network, stepped on numerous occasions as a speaker on developing a nutrition program for skiers. Today putty is a designer of sports equipment with the brand name AJ Sports Luggage.
