Course of Ajagös (English Ayaköz ) in the catchment of Lake Balkhash

The Ajagös (Russian Аягоз ) is a tributary of Lake Balkhash in eastern Kazakhstan.

The Ajagös rises on the northern edge of the Tarbagatai Mountains. It first flows in a northwesterly direction, passing the city of the same name Ajagös, then turns south and flows through a semi -desert landscape. During high water events he south of Aqtogai reached the eastern end of Lake Balkhash. The Ajagös is mainly fed by snowmelt. A portion of the river water is used for irrigation.
