Qala ʿ at al- Rabad (Arabic قلعة الربض, DMG Qal ʿ at al- rabad, also ar - Rabadh ), also known as castle Ajlun ( عجلون ʿ Ajlun, DMG ʿ Aǧlūn ), is a company incorporated under Saladin castle near the village of Ajlun. It is located in present-day northern Jordan near Irbid, Jordan 's second largest city.

The fortress was built in the years 1184 and 1185 by General Izz al -Din Usama was the defense and should primarily facilitate the transmission of messages. To this end, let Saladin build a chain of forts, the messages and forwarded by fire and pigeon post. In 1260 the Mongols conquered the castle. Due to an earthquake in 1837 it was badly damaged. In the years 1927-1929 major restoration work on the castle took place.
