Ajmer-Merwara

Ajmer- Merwara was a district of British India, in the Rajputana in present-day Rajasthan. The area around the city of Ajmer in 1818 by Daulatrao Sindhia ( 1779-1827 ), the Maharaja of Gwalior, ceded to the British East India Company. Under British rule, the province was administered by a Chief Commissioner, the Rajputana Agency board simultaneously.

On November 1, 1956 Ajmer- Merwara became part of the state of Rajasthan. The province had in 1951 an area of ​​6281 km ² and 692,000 inhabitants.
