Ájtte

Ájtte Svenskt fjäll -och same museum is called the Swedish Mountain and Same Museum in Jokkmokk.

Ájtte is the main museum for the Sami culture, special museum for the nature of the Scandinavian mountain chain and an information center for mountain tourists. The museum was opened on 15 June 1989.

The word comes from the Ájtte Lulesamischen and means storehouse.
