Ã…ke Andersson (ice hockey)

Åke Gustav " Plutten " Andersson ( born June 8, 1918 in Stockholm, † May 11, 1982 ) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player.

Career

At club level, Åke Andersson played exclusively for his hometown club Hammarby IF. From 1936 to 1956, he joined with his team in Division 1, the then highest Swedish league, at. In the years 1937, 1942, 1943, 1945 and 1951, he won the Swedish championship title with his team.

Internationally

For Sweden, Andersson took part in St. Moritz and in Oslo in 1952 at the Olympic Winter Games in 1948. At the Winter Games in 1952 he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team Sweden was also European champion. In addition, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1953 and 1954. During the 1953 World Cup, he won the gold medal with Sweden and was also with his country European champions. In the 1954 World Cup, he won the bronze medal with his team.
