Ã…kers styckebruk

Åkers Styckebruk is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Södermanland County and the historic province of Södermanland. It is located about an hour's drive south-west of Stockholm in the community Strängnäs.

History

Åkers Styckebruk emerged from the cannon foundry was founded in 1580 and is still closely associated with the company. 1588, the first guns were produced; Owner of the foundry was Duke Charles, later King Charles IX .. Today rollers are manufactured primarily for the automotive supply industry by the Åkers Group; the company is the largest employer in the community Strängnäs.
