Akis Zikos

Andreas Vassilis Zikos (Greek Ανδρέας Βασίλειος Ζήκος short Άκης Ζήκος Akis Zikos, born June 1, 1974 in Athens ) is a former Greek football player who was last active as a midfielder for AEK Athens.

Career

1993 Zikos began his career at Skoda Xanthi, for whom he played five years and 114 games attended and thereby scored a goal. In 1998 he moved to AEK Athens and twice won the Greek Cup competition in 2000 and 2002. During summer 2002, he signed a contract with the French first division club AS Monaco. During his time in France he won the French Cup and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League 2003 /04 against FC Porto. For Monaco Zikos ran 102 times and scored two goals. 2006 Zikos returned to AEK Athens and played there for two years until his career end on 20 April 2008.

For the Greek national football team Zikos played 18 times including in the qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan.
