Akkar District

Akkar (Arabic عكار ) is a district in the governorate of North Lebanon, which is characterized by a relatively large coastal plain in the west and high mountains in the east. Halba is the administrative headquarters of the district, but the largest city is Bebnin.

In the district of Akkar are some important archaeological sites. One of the best known of which is the birthplace of Alexander Severus near the city Miniara. The village Mish Mish is within the district of Akkar.
