Ákos Kovrig

Ákos Kovrig (born 2 June 1982) is a Hungarian football player. He is currently engaged in the Szolnoki MÁV FC.

Life and career

Kovrig began his career at Kecskeméti TE in his native Hungary. In 2001, he came as a 19- year-old to Vasas Budapest where he played for three years. 2005, the midfielder left the capital city in the direction of Lombard Papa. In addition to four goals in 14 league games, he completed for the then first division and four games in the UEFA Intertoto Cup. After half a year Kovrig moved on to Israel for Maccabi Netanya, before a month later Hapoel Haifa joined, from where he returned in the summer of his parent club Kecskeméti TE.

In 2007, he accepted an offer of the Austrian Bundesliga SV Mattersburg. His debut for the Burgenländer he gave on 11 July 2007 in a 2-1 win against SV Ried. Kovrig came on in the 89th minute for Thomas Wagner. In January 2009 his contract was dissolved at the Matter burgers. In June 2009 it was announced that Kovrig changes to Szolnoki MAV FC in the home.
