Aktiebolag

The Aktiebolaget (AB) is the Swedish form of joint-stock company and the only legal form of a limited liability company in Sweden.

For the establishment of a private Aktiebolaget a minimum capital of 50,000 Swedish crowns ( 5,600 euros ) and for the creation of a public corporation of 500,000 Swedish kronor ( approximately 56,000 euros ) is required. Organs of the Swedish public limited company are the Annual General Meeting ( Bolagsstämma ) and the board ( styrelse ).

The Aktiebolaget is also used by small and medium-sized companies, since the Swedish legislation for the domestic market, a company is not familiar with limited liability.
