Akutaq

Akutaq (pronounced agudik ) is the name for a special kind of ice cream that is traditionally produced by the Inuit. The word means " mixture ". It is based on milk or juice, but fat reindeer or moose and seal oil or blubber of whales. The fat is cut into pieces, liquefied by heat and then pitched foamy hand. Seal oil and water or freshly fallen snow are added and beaten until the mixture has a fairly firm consistency. Then berries are added, for example, blueberries or cranberries and the ice is made cold.

Today in the preparation of sugar is also used and raisins or dried fruit and the vegetable shortening Crisco.
