Al Bernstein (artist)

Al Bernstein ( born 1949 in Austria ) is a native of Austria artist who created his main work in the United States.

Work

Bernstein moved in 1979 from Austria to the United States. The spatial width of the American landscape shaped his metaphorical abstract work. Bernstein's artistic work includes over 900, mostly large- scale works, in addition to a first classical phase, which is still directed to the objective detection of the things.

With " The Florida book of plates - in concert with nature ," Bernstein gave 1985 its first hand- printed artist book. It followed other hand printed books and so-called Pigmentografien.

Pigmentografie means an application developed by Bernstein himself printing technology. A small selection of Pigmentografien were (eg: Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden) in 1997 in a project with Deutsche Bahn AG in this specially modified cars gallery in 24 German cities issued.
