Al Di Sarro

Al Di Sarro ( * 1951, † January 13, 2011 in Agua Dulce, California ) was an American special effects artist. Slowly for his work on the film Die Hard in 1989, he received an Oscar nomination.

Life

Al Di Sarro attended high school in Burbank. He began in 1982, first working for television as a special effects artist, so for the television series The A-Team and The Greatest American Hero. The first movie to which he contributed the special effects, was Predator. Already for his third film Die he slowly was nominated for an Oscar.

Among his best known works include the other submarine structures to Hunt for Red October and Crimson Tide - In the lowest risk and the interior of the Boeing 747 in Turbulence. For his work on the film, the stop he was awarded the " VES Award" from the Visual Effects Society Awards.

Al Di Sarro died on January 13, 2011 in his estate in Agua Dulce. At his memorial service at Universal Studios in Miami, Florida was attended by over 600 people.
