Al - Hajar al - Aswad (Arabic al - Hajar al الحجر الأسود - Aswad, on German literally Black Stone ) is a Syrian city at the near the Lebanese border in the south of the country.

The city belongs administratively to the national government Rif Dimaschq and district Daraja. al - Hajar al - Aswad has a total population of 96,419 (as of 2007 ), making it the thirteenth largest geographic entity in all of Syria.
