Al Jensen

Allan Raymond " Al " Jensen ( born November 27, 1958 in Hamilton, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played from 1980 to 1987 for the Detroit Red Wings, Washington Capitals and Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League.

Career

During his junior time Jensen played with the Hamilton Fincups in the OHL. The team was very much occupied with players like Dale McCourt, Al Secord and Willie Huber and won the Memorial Cup. In the NHL Amateur Draft 1978 it chose the Detroit Red Wings in the second round as the 31st of. He was traded in advance as the best goalkeeper in Draft and was selected as the first goalkeeper.

His first stop in the professional sector were the Kalamazoo Wings IHL and the Adirondack Red Wings in the AHL, where he was able to convince. In the season 1980/81 he came to a use at Red Wings, but he had to accept this seven goals. For the following season, Detroit gave him away to the Washington Capitals.
