Al MacAdam

Reginald Alan " Al " MacAdam ( born March 16, 1952 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Iceland ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, and from 1973 to 1985 for the Philadelphia Flyers, California Golden Seals and Cleveland Barons, Minnesota North Stars Vancouver Canucks played in the National Hockey League.

Career

MacAdam played during his junior time for the university team his hometown of Charlottetown. In the NHL Amateur Draft 1972 it chose the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round as 55th out. At first, he played in the American Hockey League for the Richmond Robins. At the end of the 1973/74 season he came to five appearances in the regular season and a. Into the Playoffs The Flyers won the Stanley Cup this year and also MacAdam was awarded a Stanley Cup ring. On the Cup, his name was not engraved because of the few missions. For the Canadian national team, he stepped in to the Ice Hockey World Championship in 1977 and 1979 and was with the team twice in fourth.

In Minnesota, he played 1979/80 his best season. With 42 goals, 51 templates and 93 points he set personal bests and was the best scorer of his team. The following season, he reached with his team the Stanley Cup Finals, subject to there but the New York Islanders. When the North Stars in the offensive sat on the young Brian Bellows, MacAdam was placed in the third row and there was mainly defensive duties. This was his goal tally down significantly. In his last season in the NHL, he moved in exchange for Harold Snepsts 1984/85 to the Vancouver Canucks. Over the next eleven years he acted as manager of a university team before the AHL team of the St. John 's Maple Leafs took over in 1997. From 2000, he counted four years to the coaching staff of the Chicago Blackhawks. His most recent coaching position was the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Since then he has worked as a scout for the Buffalo Sabres.
