al-Muttaqi

Al - Muttaqi (Arabic أبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن جعفر المقتدر المتقي لله, DMG Abu Ishaq Ibrahim b Ǧa ʿ far al - Muqtadir al - Muttaqi llāh; . † 968 ) was the twenty-first Abbasid Caliph ( 940-944 ).

Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Ja'far al - Muqtadir al - llah Muttaqi succeeded his brother al- Radi ( 934-940 ) were used. He was completely powerless at the mercy of clashes between the Turkish and Iranian military leaders.

Because of the increasing anarchy due to the fighting broke out again and again from unrest and famine in Baghdad. The situation came to a head so that al- Mutaqqi fled to Mosul and the Hamdanids Nasir ad-Daula appointed regent. While occupied the Hamdanids 942 and 944 Baghdad, but they could not hold out against the new military leader of the mercenary troops. After al - Mutaqqi was 944 again fled to Mosul, he was lured back to Baghdad, where he was deposed and blinded on 12 October 944.
